Vacant Blogger

I'M BAAAAAAAAA-AAAACCCCKKKK!

What a whirlwind it has been. I'm sorry to up and leave without any warning, but the truth is I couldn't muster up even the slightest of a blog post for quite some time. The issue at hand: MORNING SICKNESS! I was alright during the day, but once my butt hit the front steps I was running for the the porcelain and then the bed (no exaggerations there). Luckily, I wasn't as sick as I was with Bug, but I have been extremely tired! In the time that has passed I've missed posting about all the Christmas fun that had been had and our latest adventures, but don't worry I'll be catching you up! Before we jump into those older posts let's explore the wonderful news I've just sprung to the blogging world.

November 7, 2010: We I take the test.  We're pregnant!

So excited, we had to tell SOMEONE we emailed the grandparents pictures similar to above and spoke to them on the phone as they opened the attachments. We're total geeks around here, I guess.

The next day I made an appointment with the family doctor in town to have it confirmed. Our due date was July 4, 2011. OOO fireworks!

December 3rd: Had my first appointment with my midwife. We couldn't get a heartbeat on the dopler, so an ultrasound was requested. The baby measured a week smaller than the menstrual calculations and so our due date is now July 10, 2011.  Here's the shot we got of the baby..(I labeled it for those who look and only see a bean)
Our little bean is 8 weeks and 4 days here. Only 32 more to go before we meet you!

With our first pregnancy we told almost everyone immediately and we had that little hiccup in the process. This time we decided to wait until the first trimester was over before we went public. That's not to say that I didn't tell some of the people I'm close with and some co-workers. The rest of the world had to wait until December 31st when I posted on facebook my New Year's Resolution as:
Gain 21-31 more pounds over the next 6 months, lose about 10 pounds in one day and the rest can come back off over a year from that day. That's right people...I've been selected as the leading lady in "Baby Dos" coming to a hospital near us soon!

I figured posting to facebook would be a fair way to tell the rest of the world as they would all find out at the "same" time.  I also figured that the news would spread like wildfire and in come cases it did. What shocked me was when I returned to school and still the kids didn't know. I figured at least one of the old students would have mentioned it to a current student in a "OMG, Can you believe...." All this figuring, I should have figured out that my figuring wasn't jiving. Well eventually the students started asking my coworkers questions, to which they replied that I was. The day EVERYONE in the school found out was, of course, the day I had to take off to take Bug to an appointment in Albany. I guess it's easier to spread the news when someone's not there. The kids are happy for me and were a little hurt I didn't tell them sooner, so I explained to them about waiting and thinking it was a little creepy for me to announce "I'm PREGNANT!" to the classes (or at least in my mind it is).

This is me at 14 weeks. I'm bumping out much earlier this time around, hence the students' questions to my coworkers.

I'm now 15 weeks and FINALLY starting to get some of that sick and tired relief. What perfect timing too?! I start another grad class this morning and I'm back in business for blogging. It feels so good to be back. Hopefully I'll have enough time today to post about Christmas and our latest adventures. If not, there's always two months from now.
