Last Day...

Today was my last day with the eighth graders. :( I'm definitely going to miss seeing them everyday, and especially working with Ellen. She has been fantastic. The nicest, sweetest, most helpful person anyone could ever ask for in a cooperating teacher! She knows her stuff- both in content and in terms of education! The day went really well, and I only had to stop myself from starting to cry about 3 times total: once when I read Ellen's card, again when Erin(student) gave me the card she made me and had everyone sign it, and a third time when I saw Erin at the end of the day. They really are such great kids! And they are so funny. I have to laugh at people who say bad things about that age group; as long as you give them respect (like with ANY age person) you will get respect in return. Looking back I am so pleased with everything that happened, and am looking forward to what will come in the high school. I am up for the challenge (which I think it will be)!

i <3 teaching!

Well I have been in the classroom for my second week, and I LOVE IT! I taught this whole week. Every class!! Which is a big step because you are supposed to ease into it, but I felt confident in myself enough that I could handle teaching all of them that I jumped in and am happy to say I survived the week. Not only did I survive, but I have been getting really good reviews from my college supervisor, and my cooperating teacher, and the substitute teacher that was in this week. I really really really love what I am doing, and am so glad that I stuck it out for the past four years, because I'm so happy.

The kids are adorable. They are 8th graders, and so funny. They are great to work with!!!

True Story...

Today I went and met with my first cooperating teacher for student teaching! I was so excited getting dressed, and was like OH i have the PERFECT lia sopha necklace!!! So I threw it on and WHAM! I looked MAGNIFICO!! I was more worried about the belt I was wearing meshing with my outfit and not being too much that I let a very big piece of my outfit go unnoticed. So I went to the school it was great, and everyone was super nice. Then I came home and was changing into my "after school" clothes...low and behold....I take my necklace off AND THE TAG WAS STILL ON IT THE WHOLE TIME!!!!!! I KID YOU NOT!! So of course I put the necklace on to see if it was truly visible, and...IT WAS!!! I feel like such a butthole! I can't believe that, and NOBODY said ANYTHING! haha. They must of thought I was such a dork! oh well though, at least it makes for a funny story!
