House Problems

Oh goodness! I am so thankful that we have a home, but at the same time I am very frustrated with our home right now. On Friday our furnace blower motor went. Thank God we have the indoor wood stove. We went to town on Saturday to go to West End Supply for a new motor, but they were closed!!! Nick's friend gave him one out of a trailer that he had. It is smaller than what we need, but Nick rigged it up until we get a right one. We are still using the indoor wood stove though to keep the furnace from kicking on as much as possible. Even though we have the heat under control we still need to keep the outdoor wood stove going so that we have hot water. This means that we are using double the wood than we normally would!!! Ay. Hopefully we can get a new motor tomorrow or by the end of the week at the latest.

Over the weekend it snowed A LOT!!!! (Over a foot more like two) Today the mudroom started leaking. I got up there quickly while Calla was lying down and shoveled off a little bit, but she started crying so I couldn't do more. When Austin returned from riding snowmobile I had him shovel off the rest. Then I was changing Calla in her room and noticed the glider had stuff on it. I was like how'd you spit up on that?! Then realized it was from the ceiling. I looked up....HUGE WET SPOTS!!!!!!! I quickly yelled out to Nick (who was now home) and told him to come quickly. He came in, got really angry, and then went on the roof and shoveled it off. Now we are just waiting for the spots to dry up again.

What does all this mean? Well right now we have to get the furnace fixed which is money out of pocket now. Then we are going to have to do something with the roof this summer, even though it just got a new roof not to long ago. I think we might have to go down to the plywood this time. Not to mention we have to get the septic fixed this summer, and fix the floor in our bathroom, AND still put carpet down, AND redo the hardwood floors. It's a lot of work that needs to be done. These aren't really things that we are doing to just do it; they MUST be done or else it will only become even worse and even more expensive when we got to it: better to just get it done and over with.

It should be interesting...
